Yeah, it’s been a while. Life has been, well, interesting. My son has had a medical, well, not scare, but concern, and so far everything is good. My dad had a medical scare, and he is doing better now. Still not out of the woods, but on the road. Thanksgiving came and went, and now we’re hurtling head-long into Christmas. The hardest time of the year for anyone trying to maintain or lose weight. Add to that the stress of family and work parties, money worries, Christmas shopping and the like, and you have a wonderful scenario just ripe for burgeoning thighs and tummies.
Christmas is always a time that I feel lots of stress and anxiety. Not really sure why, but it seems to manifest itself particularly at this time of year. The last few weeks I have been really feeling the anxiety start to grow. And that has already lead to me overeating. Thankfully this time around, I’m aware of what I’m facing, and can take steps to mitigate the damage.
A new theater company opens up this coming week. Salty Dinner Theater will present its new show, “A Christmas Carol” at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Orem on Dec. 11th, La Caille on Dec. 17th, and Madeline’s in Sandy on Dec. 18th and 20th. Tickets are $15 plus the cost of food. At Old Spaghetti Factory and Madeline’s there will be special menus, or you can order off their regular menu. At La Caille, they will have a special dinner featuring two entrees, bread, salad, drinks and three deserts for $50/person. This is quite a savings over their regular prices. Call Salty Dinner Theater at 801-262-5083 for tickets. Curtain for all shows is at 7 pm. I am playing the Ghost of Christmas Past. Mention my name for a discount on the price of tickets.
I’m also trying my hand at reviewing theater this weekend. Utah Theater Bloggers Association called for new reviewers and I applied. My first show is this weekend, and I’m looking forward to it. We’ll have to see how it goes and whether I get another shot. I’m hoping I do, if for no other reason than I’ll get to see shows for free!
